The Game of Thrones hijacked Twitter to release new promo images. From all corners of the web, HBO slammed us with characters past and present, teasing that, in Season 6, no on is safe
There's two months left before the Game of Thrones Season 6 debut on April 24. And as ever, HBO is spreading wide its wings to get the word out that no one is safe. As Cersei Baratheon put it back in Season 1, "When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die — there is no middle ground." And those words may come back to haunt her in the advent of the HBO show's latest marketing push, as it releases a selective set of 16 images of characters present and past whose visages decorate the Hall of Faces at the House of Black and White. HBO hijacked its international twitter accounts as well as the social profiles of some choice entertainment news outlets (we're pretty sure our invites went to spam) to spread the new images, reminding one and all that every head is equal when dead.
We already know the Hall of Faces will be an important locale even before the latest Game of Thrones Season 6 trailer revealed Jon Snow in the long night of the Dead. That's where Arya Stark mysteriously lost her vision. Season 6 will find Jon Snow's half sister navigating Westeros blindly and actress Maisie Williams resigned herself to wearing "thick, irritating" contact lenses for the duration of the season's run. But whether or not the living characters above - including Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, Cersei and Arya herself - find their way to the Hall of Faces during Season 6, all should be wary of the dark forces threatening to surge from the Braavos lair. For if there's one thing HBO's latest marketing drive makes clear, it's that every head is up for grabs. Who do you think will be the first character to go?
