The Houses of Stark, Lannister and Targaryen are at it again when Game of Thrones Season 6 debuts. And recent teaser clips hint that danger will come to Westeros from all directions
Don't take our word for it that the return of Game of Thrones will be one of the biggest TV moments in 2016. the Targaryen clan's very own Emilia Clarke recently teased the "biggest moments on television ever" in Season 6. Okay, there might be just a touch of hyperbole involved, but HBO's viral marketing is certainly not going the subtle route either as it clandestinely coops fans' Twitter pages to have them pledge allegiance to one of the Westeros clans. When the show's official Twitter feed asked its followers to pledge their allegiance to one of three principal houses in the Seven Kingdoms, fans were tweeted directly from Westeros with a teaser featuring their house of choice.
"Winterfell is mine," Ramsay Bolton calls out in the first teaser clip above, after successfully holding off Stannis Baratheon's forces at the end of Season 5 and reigning in havoc over the House of Stark. What appears to be a Dothraki warrior rasps in the second clip, claiming "you are nobody... Queen of nothing," calling Daenerys Targaryen "one millionth of her name" now that she's stranded without her army in the clutches of the Dothraki clan. In the third clip, meanwhile, the High Sparrow reflects, "every one of us is poor and powerless,” while the “shame” refrain rings in the background, recalling the great physical and moral threat his sect poses to the House of Lannister. Of course, a great twist is yet to come in the story arc of Jon Snow which could put all these sure-sounding pronouncements to the test when Game of Thrones Season 6 returns to HBO on April 24.
