Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will feature Baby Groot, and Vin Diesel's been talking a bit about his cute new character. Check out what he had to say below.
Groot was one of the standout characters in Guardians of the Galaxy. Everybody fell in love with him, despite only saying the same words overs and over again, "I am Groot." He's basically Marvel's version of Chewbacca, and Racoon could be described as their Han Solo. We would say that Star-Lord is a mixture of Indiana Jones and Han Solo. Guardians Vol. 2 will feature Baby Groot (watch the first film for more on why Groot is now a baby), and we can't wait to see what they do with this new version of the character. We already know that Vin Diesel will be voicing Baby Groot in the sequel, and James Gunn has explained the character's importance in Vol. 2. Now Vin Diesel has been talking a bit more about his lovable Marvel hero.
During an interview with Collider, Vin Diesel talked about the differences between Groot and Baby Groot. “Yeah, there is a difference. He couldn’t be more naive as Baby Groot. I always think of the Groot that we saw on the first Guardians as a college-level Groot, so he’s not fully grown yet, but he’s a man. And once he sacrifices himself at the end of the movie, now he has to start all over, so to speak, but we’re gonna see this goofy, adorable, baby Groot thing running around the screen and just learning as he goes,” said Diesel. He then went on to explain that he had to do Groot's lines in six different languages for the first film. Apparently James Gunn wants to increase the number of languages for Vol. 2. Diesel must have a lot of work ahead of him. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will be in theatres from May 5th, 2017 Are you looking forward to seeing Baby Groot onscreen?
