We've got quite a while to wait until Pretty Little Liars returns to our screens for the show's final ten episodes, and although this is the end for the TV series, showrunner Marlene King has teased a PLL movie
Pretty Little Liars fans have been getting super emotional lately due to all the photos, snapchats and tweets that the cast and crew have been posting about the end of the series. The cast made sure to document their very last table read and got pretty emotional themselves at the sets being torn down. It's the end of an era, and as much as we want to discover the identity of Uber A, it's going to be hard to say goodbye to Aria, Emily, Hanna, Spencer and Alison. Showrunner Marlene King has revealed the very ominous series finale title to be "Til deAth do us pArt," which leads us to believe that there will be death at what is meant to be a joyous wedding. However, this final episode might not be the last we see our our PLLs, there's still the possibility of a Pretty Little Liars movie somewhere down the line.
Variety reports that King said back in August after the summer finale, "I would say, probably to make myself feel better about the show coming to an end, we’re very open to finding ways to keep these characters alive. I hope that down the line, we find a way to bring all the girls back together again. It’s such a fun world to play in that we’re always keeping that option open.” Now, films that follow their TV counterparts don't exactly have the best reputation (we're looking at you Sex in the City movie), but we're confident that King and the PLL actresses would make a film that successfully keeps the town of Rosewood alive in our hearts.
While there are no plans for a Pretty Little Liars film as of yet, the two-hour series finale will be like a mini movie that reveals all and wraps up the loose ends. And Toby fans will be happy to hear that he survives the car crash, despite actor Keegan Allen teasing his character's death, and Toby will live to see the Pretty Little Liars Season 7 and series finale. Do you hope that there's a Pretty Little Liars movie sometime down the road?
