Fifty Shades Darker author E. L. James caused a sensation on social media after hinting at a potential release date for the film's trailer, and now it seems that its time has nearly come.
The filming of Fifty Shades Darker wrapped in Vancouver in May 2016, and soon after author E. L. James teased the trailer's release sometime in the fall. A dedicated Twitter fan account of the series, called FiftyShadesEN, seems to have connections from inside Universal Studios, as they just announced that the Fifty Shades Darker trailer will be released sooner than expected. Their tweet reads: "EXCLUSIVE: Universal just confirmed to me #FiftyShadesDarker First Trailer is coming really soon! So excited!" Although it's currently still summer, fall is just around the corner. They followed up with a second tweet: "The only thing I'm allowed to say is the date is still secret but it's not August." Therefore, judging from this announcement, we're expecting the trailer to be released in September.
Jamie Dornan recently dished on filming the Fifty Shades sequels, and revealed that they were a little bit more fun to shoot, which is mostly thanks to both Darker and Freed's production being back-to-back. Marcia Gay Harden who plays Christian Grey's mother, shared that Fifty Shades Darker will be more of a love story between Ana and Christian, as they progress further in their relationship. The sequel will also introduce us to a host of new characters; including Leila Williams, Christian's ex-submissive played by Bella Heathcote, and Kim Basinger as Elena Lincoln, the woman who introduced Christian to the world of BDSM. Therefore, it's safe to say that the trailer will tease Ana and Christian overcoming a lot of obstacles to keep their love alive. Are you excited to see the Fifty Shades Darker trailer?
