Guardians of the Galaxy 2's James Gunn directed three of Stan Lee's upcoming four Marvel Cinematic Universe cameos.

There's nothing better than a Stan Lee cameo. He's really perfected the art of stealing a movie despite only being in it for a few seconds. At 93, Lee's still going strong. He's appeared in almost every Marvel movie, and rightly so. Without Stan Lee, there would be no Marvel, and he created many of our favourite superheroes. It's no wonder that Lee's getting his own action-adventure movie, which we really can't wait to see. Stan Lee most recently cameoed in Scott Derrickson's Doctor Strange. It was another wonderful appearance, not quite as memorable as his Deadpool cameo, but still very good. Turns out that this cameo was filmed by James Gunn, and he also directed two of Lee's upcoming three cameos.

"James shot four cameos with Stan in one day,” Derrickson told Entertainment Weekly during a special screening of Doctor Strange at EW PopFest. Apparently James Gunn kept on texting Derrickson to make sure that what he was doing was right. “James was texting me the frame. Does this look right? Does this look good?” In a Facebook post on the subject James Gunn wrote, “It was one of the most fun times I’ve ever had on set. There are few people in this world I love and admire more and have more fun with than Stan Lee. Even though he does love breaking my, and everyone else’s balls (I introduced him to Tom Holland for the first time and he said, ‘Everyone says you’re great! Personally, I don’t see it.’).” What's your favourite Stan Lee cameo?
